Our Adult Beginner Music Programme will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year in October. The majority of musicians in the LCCB organisation started their instrument within the last ten years through either the Karingal Concert Band, Turrumburra Concert Band or the Adult Beginner Music Programme. Many of our musicians had never picked up an instrument in their lives while others returned after a (very) long hiatus.

We will be celebrating the achievements of the programmes and the musicians within it on the 28th of October in a concert at Willoughby Uniting Church from 3pm. More information will be included on our Facebook page and this website in coming weeks.

Members from across the LCCB organisation have the fantastic opportunity to participate in a high-level jazz workshop with some of Australia’s best jazz musicians on the 19th of March. Primarily aimed at benefiting our two jazz bands (Stringybark Jazz and Burns Bay Big Band), all members of the LCCB community are welcome to participate in the workshop which will cover an introduction to jazz, jazz techniques, improvisation and performance. Band members will be tutored by John Morrison, David Braybrook, Bob Coassin and Phil Arnold. This workshop is a follow-up to our recent Band Camp in which all three of our concert bands worked intensively with tutors and conductors on this term’s repertoire.
