Have you ever wished that you could play a musical instrument? Maybe you did play an instrument but haven't played in a very long time.

Well, now is your chance to join an adult beginner concert band.

Who can join?

The Lane Cove Adult Beginner Band is aimed at adults who have never had the chance to learn a concert band instrument or who have not played in a long time.

What instrument can I play?

If you don't already own a concert band instrument, you may buy or hire one. Some instruments are available for hire through the Lane Cove Concert Band.

How do you learn to play?

You will need to take lessons from a private music tutor. A list of potential tutors can be supplied. Band rehearsals are only intended to reinforce the skills, techniques and knowledge acquired during your instrumental lessons.

When will the band rehearse?

The Lane Cove Adult Beginner Band will meet every Wednesday evening from 8pm till 9:30pm in the band room located upstairs at 180 Longueville Road, Lane Cove (Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother Centenary Centre). Rehearsals commence 21st May, 2008.

How much does it cost?

The annual membership fee is $150 and there is a once only $10 joining fee. Adult Beginner Band members must pay an initial pro-rata amount of $50 which covers the $10 joining fee, the band method book and membership to 30th June 2008. Instrumental lessons are not included in this fee.

Who do I contact?

The band is being formed under the auspices of the Lane Cove Concert Band Inc.
